Recent ActivityWelcome, Parents! The Woodland Parents Organization is the parent volunteer group that supports and enhances the wonderfully caring learning environment that is created for our children by the faculty and staff of Woodland Presbyterian School. We arrange family activities, school fundraisers and faculty appreciation events. If you want to be involved at Woodland and to have an opportunity to meet other parents, who often become your close friends, volunteering with the WPO is the best way to go.
Every Woodland parent is automatically a member of the WPO. There are no membership fees or admission forms needed to join. What is invaluable, however, is the gift to Woodland of your time and talents when you volunteer. From room sitting during the Faculty Christmas Luncheon to chairing the Favorite Guy Breakfast, there are many ways, big and small, to be involved. Our parent volunteers strengthen and sustain that intangible feeling of belonging and warmth that you feel in the halls of Woodland.

Group Announcements November & December NewsOur WPO volunteers have been busy lately. We want to say KUDOS for doing a great job!! Beth LaGasse organized a great fall skating party at Funquest. Everyone had a fun night out skating and playing laser tag with their friends. The Christmas season is off to an early start at Woodland. Leslie Mullis and Miki Skeen treated our teachers and faculty to a delicious Christmas luncheon on December 2. Thank you to the parent class sitters who made it possible for our teachers to enjoy lunch and time together. A BIG thank you also to the many parents that baked the sweet, tasty treats for the teachers and faculty to take home for their families to enjoy. By the smiles on their faces, this is a loved tradition by all!! Gift and Art day was a big success thanks to Mary Tom Massey. We are happy to announce the winner of the October and November WPO volunteer box. Lisa Green was the winner for the month of October and CeCe Glenn in November. Thank you ladies for giving your time and talent to the WPO!
October NewsFall has been full of great events for Woodland. Our gift wrap sale was a HUGE success! We raised over $14,000 for Woodland. A big thank you to the co-chairs for this event Renee Morris and Lu Haney. It was a job well done! Vision screening week went smoothly last month thanks to Molly Wood. We appreciate all of the volunteers who helped her. Thank you to Kelly Lee for being our Grandparent's Day liaison. Our grandparents love to visit our students on their special day. Everyone had a great time at the Woodland Annual Golf Tournament. We had 18 teams of golfers and perfect weather for a round of golf. Thank you to Brad Walker and Rob Varner for doing a terrific job organizing this event and to the sponsors for this year's tournament. It was a GREAT event for the WPO and the Woodland Booster Club. Thank you to Beth Miller for organizing volunteers for the golf tournament. Missy Rakers was our first lucky winner from the WPO Volunteer box. We will draw a name each month so don't forget to fill out a form and place it in our box each time you volunteer for the WPO. You could be the next lucky winner!!
September NewsThe WPO is off to a great start this fall. Thanks to our parent volunteers we had a great time together at the Welcome Back Family Celebration in August. We are currently focused on our two fall fundraisers Innisbrook Gift Wrap and our 9th Annual Woodland Golf Tournament in October. Our outdoor learning center is in full swing thanks to Elizabeth Novick and her group of volunteers. Please don’t forget to join your friends at the skating party on November 10. WPO events are a great way to spend time with your Woodland friends outside of the classroom.
Our parent volunteers continue to give their time and talent to Woodland Presbyterian School. I can’t say thank you enough for all that they do for the WPO. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions or would like to volunteer at one of our many events.
